Week 9
We are finally on Week 9 of our distance learning. You have reached the end! To the 5th graders: Congratulations on graduating from 5th grade!!
Monday, May 25 is a holiday. It is Memorial Day. On this day, we celebrate all of the people who are or in the past have fought for our country. I have found a short story for you to read on Memorial Day.
This week, you will be working at your own pace once again. Because there are only 3 days of school this week, there are only a few assignments for you to work on.
For the 5th graders: I hope to see you on Thursday at your graduation!
Due:
Week 8
Hi boys! We are now on Week 8 of our distance learning. After this week, you will only have 3 more days of school. Keep working hard on your assignments until the end. Soon, most of you will be moving on to middle school. I’m sorry our time was cut short, but I know you will do well wherever you go. You are always welcomed to visit! This week, just like last week, you will be working at your own pace. If you can, please continue to do IReady. You should try and do a reading and a math lesson each day if you can.

Due:
Week 7
Hi boys! Thank you again for those students who are continuing to pick up their packets and working on them during the week. Can you believe that we have been doing distance learning for 7 weeks now! After this week, you will only have 8 more days of school (about one and half weeks).
This week, I will be posting your assignments differently. I will not give you a daily schedule, but you will be working on the assignments at your own pace. They will still be due at the end of the week. You will still need to do 2 days of IReady for Language Arts and 2 days for Math.
Due:
Week 6- Distance Learning
Hi boys! We are now on Week 6 of our distance learning! Good job to those of you who picked up your packets and to those of you who dropped off last week’s work. Your hard work is going to pay off! I hope that you enjoyed the virtual field trips to the San Diego Zoo and to the Empire State Building.
It seems like we have been at home for a long time. I hope that besides doing your assignments, you are keeping yourself busy by helping your parents with chores around the house and exercising. As for me, I still make time to exercise. I have also been trying to find some lessons that I think you will enjoy as well as planning with some of the teachers. We have also been spending a lot of time together as a family, and finally, I have been doing a lot of cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning, which is something that I do not enjoy doing. This has been a difficult time staying home for this long so this week, one of the things that I would like for you to think about is what you are grateful for. As always, please do not hesitate to email at any time if you have questions with the assignments or if you just want to say hello ([email protected].) Remember: this quarantine period is only temporary. We will soon be back at school. I hope that you all were able to see the video that the Kalihi Elementary School Staff made for all of you. Miss you all and be safe!
Due:
Week 5- Distance Learning
Hi boys!! We are now on Week 5 of our distance learning. Please continue to pick up your packets and drop off the assignments that you are completing. Congratulations to the boys who picked up their packets, and congratulations to those who dropped off their finished work!!
This week I will be assigning some different types of assignments that I hope that you will enjoy. You will need some form of technology to complete these assignments. You will be going on 2 virtual field trips to the San Diego Zoo in California and to the Empire State Building in New York. Have fun and learn something new!! Please continue to follow the daily schedule.
As always….. Please be safe and stay healthy!

I hope you are keeping up with your assignments and working on them daily. Please don’t forget that you are more than welcome to email me anytime using your personal email, your parent’s email, or Rams email. You should have all received your Rams email and your passwords. My email is [email protected]. You can email me with questions or if you just want to say hello.
