Assignment
To the Grade 3-5 EL students and your parents,
I want to tell you what will happen in Grade 3-5 EL for the next several weeks. As you know, no one will be going to school. That does not mean EL classes will stop. I will be posting on the school website work that you or your child should do.
These are the things you need to know:
- Work will be available on the school website or at the pickup location for paper packets.
- Weekly packets will be divided into 3-4 "steps" or tasks the students need to complete. The work will focus on reading and writing skills with the 2nd or 3rd "step" being something that is a little more fun to do, like a puzzle. Students can do the work in any order they want.
- Other that the first week (March 30-April 6, 2020), the packets will include readings at different levels. Everyone will be reading the same passage but the passage will be given to you in 3 different levels. Start with the easiest. Then work up through the levels to the final passage. Doing this should help you or your child increase in their reading skills.
- If you or your child wants help, would like an audio recording of the readings emailed to you or want to try to set up an individualized meeting with me over the internet, please email me at [email protected]. I will be checking this email at least 3 times a day.
Remember: How much you or your child learns, is up to you. I am here to help. I am only an email away.
I look forward to seeing you guys when things get back to normal.
Stay safe!
